Clare sits on the upper Stour, a short drive west of our base in Lavenham along the A1092 through Long Melford and Cavendish. Our engineers survey, install and service air conditioning and air source heat pumps for homes and businesses in Clare, Cavendish, Glemsford, Stoke-by-Clare, Hundon and the villages along the valley.

Cavendish’s green and many of the valley’s farmhouses and barns are listed too. In these homes the outdoor unit and pipe runs matter as much as the system itself.
At the survey we look for a discreet spot for the outdoor unit, often in a rear garden, courtyard or outbuilding, out of view from the street. We plan pipe and condensate routes that avoid historic timbers, plaster and pargeting where we can. We’ll also tell you whether listed building consent or planning permission is likely to be needed from West Suffolk Council (Clare, Cavendish) or Babergh (Glemsford and the eastern valley). You or your agent make any application; we advise but don’t submit them. More on our period homes and listed buildings page.
