Air conditioning for Felixstowe homes and businesses

Felixstowe is one of the furthest towns we cover from our Lavenham base: roughly 35 miles, which we estimate at 55–65 minutes via the A1071 and the A14 past Ipswich. Because of that, we group Felixstowe surveys and installs onto the same days, so each job gets a full, unhurried slot.

Living by the sea: what changes on a Felixstowe install

Salt air is the big difference. Outdoor units on the seafront and on the cliff-top roads take a battering from salty, damp wind, so we look at shelter, mounting height and coastal-protection options on the condenser before we quote, and we suggest a servicing interval that suits a coastal site.

  • Edwardian seafront villas and guest houses along the Undercliff and Sea Road, many converted into flats. Converted buildings usually mean a freeholder or management company has a say on external units, and we’ll give you the details they ask for.
  • Victorian and inter-war terraces in Walton and around the town centre, where back yards are small and pipe runs often go through solid walls.
  • Post-war and newer estates towards the Trimleys and Grange Farm, which are usually straightforward and can often be priced from a free virtual survey.
  • Felixstowe Ferry and Old Felixstowe. Parts of the town are conservation areas. East Suffolk Council is the planning authority; we’ll advise whether consent is likely to be needed, and you or your agent make any application.

Port, logistics and seafront trade

The Port of Felixstowe and the logistics parks along the A14 at Trimley and Anzani Avenue are full of offices, gatehouses, canteens and control rooms that need cooling year-round. On the seafront, cafés, ice-cream kiosks, takeaways and hotels need reliable refrigeration through the summer peak. We install:

Cold. Heat.
Perfected.

Prices, heat pumps and servicing

Single-room home installations start from £1,300; see prices and home air conditioning.

Our air source heat pumps range covers air-to-air and air-to-water. On air-to-water jobs our plumbing partner handles the water side while our engineers fit the heat pump. Coastal sites can be harder on outdoor units, which makes regular servicing worthwhile: our Comfort Club is £14.99 a month per unit.

Felixstowe FAQs

Will sea air damage an outdoor unit?

Salt speeds up corrosion, so position and protection matter. We’ll recommend a sheltered spot where possible, talk you through coastal-protection options and suggest a sensible servicing interval.

Can you cool an office or gatehouse at the port?

Yes. We survey on site, check access and any site rules, and quote a fixed price. Larger sites can go on planned maintenance.

I own a holiday flat on the seafront. What do I need first?

Usually written permission from the freeholder or management company. We’ll survey for free and give you a spec sheet to send them.
